Overview
Aspen is an idyllic winter wonderland and its ice skating facilities are no exception. You can choose from one of two indoor rinks or a charming little outdoor skating rink right in downtown Aspen.
Where to go
Indoors
Indoor ice skating in Aspen is quite popular and available year-round at one of the Aspen Recreation Department's two indoor skating rinks – the Aspen Ice Garden and Lewis Ice Arena. The Lewis Ice Arena is newer, larger and hosts recreational hockey leagues, while the Aspen Ice Garden is slightly older, but more available for open free skates.
Outdoors
The utterly adorable Silver Circle Ice Rink is one of Colorado's most picturesque outdoor ice skating rinks. Imagine skating under a star-filled sky on a rink encircled by holiday-trimmed Aspen buildings as snow-covered mountains loom in the distance. A great place to propose marriage or take the kids on their first skate, this is a place for making memories.
Rentals & Fees
Admission to the indoor arenas starts at $10.50 and $7 for children. Skate rentals begin at $3, plus extra for a locker.
