Overview
Wagner Park, one of over two dozen green spaces maintained by City of Aspen's Parks and Recreation Department, has a multi-use athletic field with rugby goal posts, temporary soccer nets and softball backstops, as well as a modern playground (with a climbing rock) for younger tikes. Residents use the outdoor facilitiy, located in the heart of downtown Aspen, for everything from pick-up games of ultimate frisbee to organized leagues of rugby and soccer. Wagner Park also plays host to special events, such as Aspen's famous Food & Wine Classic, in June. The park is available by reservation to host weddings, art fairs and musical events as well. Location
Wagner Park inhabits nearly two city blocks directly west of Mill Street Mall in downtown Aspen. Its south corner sits at the cross of S. Mill St. and E. Durant Avenue, and S. Monarch St. runs along the western side of the park.
Activities
Wagner Park is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day throughout the year. (Certain scheduled events may preclude full public access.) Fields are available for team practices and for tournaments by reservation. Please, call (970) 920-5120 or (970) 544-4100 for more information regarding reservations.
